Scientific Programme
Spoken Presentations: Presentations should use PowerPoint or equivalent. If other presentation methods are required, contact the organisers. There are two types of spoken presentations:
Full-length talks: For the Dasyurid and Bats and Wind Farm symposiums the full-length talks will be 15 mins (12 mins talk and 3 min questions and changeover), while for the main conference (Tuesday – Thursday) the full-length talks will be 10 mins (8 mins talk and 2 mins questions and changeover).
Speed talks: For the Dasyurid and Bats and Wind Farm symposiums the speed talks will be 5 mins (4 mins talk with 1 min for a quick question and changeover), while for the main conference (Tuesday – Thursday) the speed talks will be 5 mins (including changeover) with 10 mins allocated at the end of each block of speed talks for questions.
Poster Presentations: Posters should be no larger than A0 in size and in portrait orientation.
Abstracts: Abstracts are required for all full-length talks, speed talks and posters, for both the symposiums and the main conference. Refer to this link for more details on the format of the abstracts and presenter guidelines.
It is strongly preferred that presentations are presented in person. However, we recognise that for some people personal circumstances may not enable this. If so, please contact us at amsabs26@gmail.com to discuss the potential option of presenting via a pre-recorded talk.
As a general rule, only one spoken paper (full length or speed talk) may be presented by each person during the entire conference (i.e. symposiums and full conference combined). If more full-length spoken presentations are received than can be fitted into the programme, some people may be asked to change their talk to a speed talk or poster, or the time allocation for all the full length talks may be reduced.
Please indicate in your registration form if you are a student. All students will be considered for the student awards. If you do not wish to be considered for an award, please contact us at amsabs26@gmail.com.
Abstracts for full-length talks, speed talks and posters should be emailed to amsabs26.abstracts@gmail.com by 20 April 2026.
